The Promise of Mediation for Business and Society

In today’s polarized times, the ability to bring people together is a critical challenge for leaders across sectors, industries and professions in order to break silos.

So what happens when tensions escalate, and constructive dialogue falters?  We can try mediation, which enables the pursuit of negotiation by other means.  If managed responsibly, mediation is preferable to protracted conflict, but it remains underutilized in much of the private and public sectors.

In this dynamic presentation, the co-authors of a new book, Mediation: Negotiation by Other Moves, will offer vignettes and answer questions on how to drive a mediation process, uncover the roots of conflict, acknowledge the parties’ needs, identify workable solutions, and overcome common traps, while ensuring professional and personal ethical standards.
